Kathmandu : The Nepal government recently announced capitals and constitutional heads of all seven provinces. The provincial government is led by the Chief Ministers in all the seven provinces.
Nepal has adopted federalism after the promulgation of new constitution in September 2015 . The elections for provincial assemblies were held in two phases on 26 November and 7 December 2017.
Left alliance of CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) registered landslide victory in all states except Province 2. The two major parties of southern Tarai – Sanghiya Samjawadi Forum Nepal and Rashtriya Janata Party Nepal got majority in Province 2.
Biratnagar has been declared as temporary capital of Province 1, Janakpur of Province 2 , Hetauda of Province 3 , Pokhara of Province 4, Butwal of Province 5, Surkhet of Province 6 and Dhangadi of Province 7.
