Kathmandu : A total of 158,578 trekkers visited the Annapurna region in 2017. Annapurna region is regarded as one of the popular trekking route in the world.
More than 32 thousand trekkers from India visited the Annapurna region last year according to Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) .
China is ranked second on the list with 11,206 trekkers, while France (10,748), the United Kingdom (10,302) and the United States of America (10,262) complete the top five positions.
The other top 10 countries are Germany, South Korea, Australia, the Netherlands and Spain .
A total of 114,187 trekkers had visited the region in 2016 , while 129,624 trekkers visited the region in 2014 and 78,930 trekkers in 2015 .
A total of 940,218 foreign tourists visited Nepal in 2017 via both air and land routes.
